Water Damage Ruins Carpet

The carpet in this home had water sit in it for too long. It may not seem like a big problem but carpets have a glue backing to keep them together. When the backing and the carpet fibers sit too long in water they pull away from each other, known as delamitation.

Because the carpet had been damaged from the broken pipe our crew from SERVPRO of Northwest Wichita took out the carpet. There were still wet materials in the house that needed to be dried. But the homeowners were delighted to know that their insurance would cover the new carpet.
